What is CMA Foundation?
The CMA (ICWA) Foundation Stage is the first and most important stage of the course. In this startup phase, students will be introduced to the basics of cost management tactics and the where about of the financial industry. The course could be completed in a minimum period of 6 months.
CMA Course Eligibility Details 2024
You must first understand the eligibility conditions for admission to the CMA program before applying.
The following are the prerequisites for the CMA Foundation course:
- Candidates must have passed Class 10 or equivalent from an accredited board or body. or,
- Passed an accredited 10 + 2 High School exam, or an exam recognized as equivalent by the Central Government, or passed the National Diploma in Commerce Exam held under the All India Technical Education Council or Government Technical Education. Diploma authority for local service exams governed by the All India Council or the National Local Higher Education Council.
- Any candidate who has passed the Foundation examination conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and vice versa, will be exempted from Foundation Course; or,
- Any candidate who has passed the Intermediate Examination (by whatever name called) conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, will be exempted from Foundation Course. Similarly, any applicant who has completed the Intermediate examination would be exempted from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's Common Proficiency Test (also known as the entry level test).
- Candidates who pass the qualifying exam for direct admission to the Intermediate Course are not required to take the Foundation Course. (See Annexure VI for further information.)
- Temporary Admission: Students may be admitted to the foundation course on a provisional basis. Students in this situation would be given 36 (thirty-six) months to transfer from Provisional to Regular Status.
Can I give CMA exam after Class 10th?
CMA foundation exam candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board of education. Candidates with a class 10th qualification, on the other hand, can enroll in the course.

How to get exemption in CMA
To pass a group in the CMA exams, a student must score at least 40% in each of the group's subjects and a group average of 50% or above. However, there are some regulations in the CMA course that must be followed in order to receive the benefit of exemption and mark carryover:
Exam exemption for CMAs:
If a candidate fails to clear a group but gets a 60 percent or above on one or more of the papers, he or she will be exempted from taking that paper(s) in the next attempt. However, the marks in the exempted paper(s) will be counted as 50 in the future attempt for calculating the aggregate.
Carry Forward of marks:
If a candidate fails to clear a group but receives 60 percent or more in any of the papers and a minimum of 40 percent in each of the remaining papers in that group, he or she will be exempted from appearing in that paper(s) in the subsequent attempt and will be given the benefit of carrying forward the actual marks of the exempted paper(s).

CMA Foundation ICMAI Verification of Answer Sheets 2024
- If a candidate wishes to have his or her Answer Papers verified, he or she must apply to the Institute (Director of Examination) within 30 days of the examination results being announced.
- A cost of Rs 250/- each paper is charged to candidates. Payment may only be made on the internet.
- Only totaling errors and failure to investigate any response are examined during the verification procedure.
- Candidates must realize that they will not be given any information about their individual marks.
- If the authority discovers any such error, such as a failure to evaluate or value an answer(s) or a mistake in the totaling of the marks, the money for the paper in which the error was discovered is repaid to the applicant upon application.
- Without waiting for the verification results, candidates must submit their examination forms for the next exams.
- After the result is announced, the candidates will be automatically reimbursed their examination/verification expenses.
Costs will be repaid in two situations:
a) For pass instances, verification fees (for change of marks paper's only) and examination fees will be refunded (if already paid for the coming examination)
b) For change of marks: Verification costs are solely applicable to change of marks papers.
How do I track the Verification of Answer Papers process 2024?
To apply for answer paper verification, candidates must complete the steps outlined below:
Step:1 Go to the Examination Tab on the official website. Then choose Procedure for Verification of Answer Papers from the drop-down menu.
Step:2 Candidates will be taken to a new page titled "Application for Subject Verification."
Step:3 Candidates must then fill out the required information and click the Pay Now button.
Step:4 Applicants will be routed to a payment gateway where they may pay the fee using a debit or credit card in an online fashion. For the following two working days, they must wait for the payment confirmation status.
