Judicial Services Examination in Tamil Nadu
Under the terms of the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service (Cadre and Recruitment Rules), 2007, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conducts a judicial examination for the position of Civil Judge (Junior Division).
Applicants must first register their information using a one-time registration method and pay a registration fee of Rs. 150 before registering online.
1. The minimum age for practising advocates/pleaders and assistant public prosecutors is 25, while the maximum age is 35. The age limit for those in the reserved group is 40 years.
2. For all categories of new law graduates, the minimum age is 22 years and the maximum age is 27 years.
Note: Candidates applying under the Practicing Advocates category must be practicing as an advocate on the date of notice and must continue to do so until they are selected and appointed. The same is true for those applying for the position of Assistant Public Prosecutor...
The candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate English and Tamil fluently.
Applicants with insufficient knowledge of Tamil may apply. If chosen, they must pass the Tamil Second Class Language Test during their probationary period.

There are three stages to the exam. These are Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
It is a 3 hours exam of 100 marks. 40 are minimum passing marks for a category other than reserved. For reserved categories, it is 30 and 35.
There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer.

The second stage has a total of four papers each for 3 hours duration. The maximum number of marks an aspirant can score is 100.
For SC, SC(A)s, and STs the minimum marks are 30% while other reserved groups such as MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs need to secure 35% marks.
For all other categories, minimum marks are 40%.
